He spends his free time with his family, especially with his kids. He is also emotional person. Dr. Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) is mother of family in show. She is an anesthesiologist. Her family is bi-racial. Her father is white and her mother is African-American. She is a very supportive to Andre and her family. However, she thinks that she does not get enough attention from Andre.
Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) is Andre and Rainbow's oldest child. She is very popular at her school and interested in social media application so much. Almost whole running time of the Black-ish, she is interested in the phone. Junior Andre Johnson (Marcus Scribner) is Andre and Rainbow's second child. He has a typical teenage characteristic. As he is very naive, he is open to manipulation. He is very hardworking at school. He looks like his father and their dialog delivers fun during show.
Jackson Johnson (Miles Brown) Andre and Rainbow's third child and fraternal twin of Diane. He is 13-years-old. Andre is his idol. He is very emotional and romantic boy. He likes dancing and cooking. Diane Johnson (Marsai Martin) is Andre and Rainbow's fourth child and fraternal twin of Jack. She is clever than Jack. We see in Black-ish that even the cleverest one in the children. She is less emotional than Jack. She likes sports and repairing something. Ruby Johnson (Jenifer Lewis) is Andre's mother. She heavily believes in Jesus and she is a very religious person. Her relation with Rainbow is not good at all. Pops Johnson(JamesEarl) isAndre’s father. He is a flirtatious person. It seems that he did not care Andre in the past even if he loves him so much.
